Artificial Intelligence

What is Artificial Intelligence (AI) and why AI.

Why should every career bring their input on issues of security, privacy, and digital rights?

One of the main taglines of Engineering UK, Royal Academy of Engineering and The Global Grand Challenges Summit is to sensitize on the changing careers and impact the coming generation on areas to venture and places to focus their attention on to be more productive and relevant in the changing world as we look at the ways to sustain the 10 billion people by 2050.

Do you think that AI and other transformational technologies will change humanity for the better?

Then why career management, AI cuts across all sectors from those in engineering, ethical based, humanities and medicine, and IT. AI will wash away certain careers while on the other hand broaden and open new areas for the next generations to venture in.

I remember when I left high school, my parents paid for a three-month course to go and study computer packages just to be able to get a certificate. Nowadays, in the corporate world, nobody looks for that. Everyone assumes it’s a basic skill that everyone ought to have. That’s how constantly the world is revolving.

When such forums are convened, it's prudent for all minds to come together so as to put their ideas and opinion as we make the whole idea of AI successful and suitable for everyone.

David Brower once coined, “Thinking Globally, Acting Locally.”

Engineering in unpredictable world

I ask myself, what is engineering, why engineering? My whole surrounding is science, engineering and how the two intertwine together for our coexistence. As human beings, we try and make sense of why everything behaves as they do.  We face so many challenges for example hunger, poverty, clean and sustainable energy all these though the population is still rapidly growing. Could engineering be the solution?

So why engineering? It's because we need it, it's because it is us.

Therefore, why engineering? it's a science which involves the new design, innovations, improvements on the existing system as we develop solutions, solve problems, develop up with ideas all in with the core part being a better reliable, friendly and reliable tomorrow. Ask yourself, why engineering.  Do you need it? I do.  Engineering is the solution to the current challenges.
